PES Performance feature in Insider Yorkshire story on ‘future of manufacturing’

The October issue of Business Insider: Yorkshire includes a feature on the future of manufacturing in the UK, focusing on the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) and PES Performance as one of the world-leading companies located there.

A theme in the story was that advanced manufacturing is seen as a crucial element on maintaining Britain’s competitiveness. Managing director of PES Performance, Mike Maddock gave his thoughts on this and how the drive for more advanced processes and products is growing and that Britain’s reputation for innovation and quality will only strengthen as a result.

“There has been a pick-up in advanced manufacturing and a real push to get niche technology out to market. There is a real appetite for new products and technology to help seize opportunities.

“There has also been a real recognition that smaller businesses can contribute a great deal, which is fueling collaboration across the industry. There is still a competitive edge but businesses recognise that by working together we can evolve faster and operate more leanly and nimbly. That’s what will keep us competitive.

“Britain is seen as home to top engineers and that won’t change if we continue to work together in advanced manufacturing projects.”
