British racing driver, Paul Rees, has confirmed his return to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB with Parr Motorsport.

Paul, sponsored in recent years by PES Performance,  joins Parr after coming third in the Porsche Carrera Cup last year and is hoping to battle for race wins, and ultimately the Championship throughout 2015.

Paul will return to the Pro class of the championship, which supports the British Touring Car Championship at tracks across the UK. This year the championship will also make a one-off visit to Spa Francorchamps as a support race to the FIA WEC series.

Paul said; “I’m thoroughly looking forward to the 2015 season in the Porsche Carrera Cup and I’m really looking forward to working with Parr. They are a well-established, professional team and I’m hoping for wins and be challenging for the title at the end of the year.

“I had a solid year in 2014, which included a race in the Porsche Supercup in Austin, Texas. I learnt a huge amount there, which I’m hoping to bring forward to this year’s campaign. It will also be great to be working with team-mate Dino Zamparelli too. He is a quick driver and hopefully we will be able to challenge and push each other throughout the year.

“Porsche GB have done a fantastic job in attracting a huge grid this season and putting the Championship up there where it belongs as one of the best proving grounds in the world for up and coming GT drivers.”

Dan Fleetcroft, engineering design director at PES Performance, added; “It’s good to see Paul returning to the Porsche Carrera Cup. These cars can be particularly tough to drive consistently quickly but through the season Paul really got to grips with the Porsche as shown by his third place Championship finish and encouraging drives at Le Mans and Austin against the world’s top Carrera drivers.

“With his experience from last year and the new partnership with Parr Motorsport we expect to see Paul challenging again for the Carrera Cup title in 2015.”

The first round of the championship will be at Brands Hatch on 4-5 April. Click the links for more information on Paul ReesParr Motorsport and the Porsche Carrera Cup.
